Travel
The University of Chicago is in the Hyde Park section of the city. Midway Airport is the closer and more convenient airport. Its principal airline is Southwest but there is also limited service to Midway on American, Delta, and Frontier. Uber, Lyft, and various taxi companies serve Midway, and there’s also a bus for those who want to use mass transit: the 55 to the Museum of Science and Industry. If you’re flying into O’Hare, the airport in the north of the city (farther away from Hyde Park than Midway), you can take Uber, Lyft, or a taxi, or the CTA train line (the Blue Line) into the center of the city, where you can pick up an Uber, Lyft, or a cab. Transit to and from the city center is also available via the Metra Electric line and the CTA Bus 2, named the “Hyde Park Express” line. The David Rubenstein Forum, where the conference will be held, is at 1201 East 60thStreet. Limited parking will be available on the street along the Midway Plaisance or, at an hourly rate, in the parking garage of the University of Chicago Medical Center, just north of the Midway Plaisance.
